Extreme racing machine, maxi 72 racing boat Sorcha, has an extremely demanding race programme and regular checks to her structures are vital. The yacht sails to extreme levels, being pushed hard by a professional crew often in tough sea going conditions.
The team at International NDT has a long time relationship with Sorcha and her owner – right at the beginning of his ownership we carried out the pre-purchase survey on his behalf.
We are now continuing to support the team through their regatta programme which includes the forthcoming iconic Rolex Fastnet Race which takes place in August. Sorcha will be searching for the speed to get her close to line honours in the 600 mile offshore race – she is one of the fastest boats taking part. International NDT has undertaken a detailed inspection of Sorcha’s main structural areas as part of the preparation for the race.
